Assistant Football Coach (Offense/Defense) Posting ends July 26th 2019

Canada Prep, a long-running American football academy in St. Catharines, is seeking assistant football coaches (both offense & defense, possible coordinator positions available). Term is from approximately the beginning of August to the beginning of November. Number of hours weekly to be determined. This position involves travel as well as work on evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities including but not limited to:
-Assisting at all practices and games with the goal to develop highly competitive players;
-Meeting with the head coach and positional coaches as well as players both before and during the season;
-Ensuring proper skills and safety techniques are taught and followed;
-Assisting the head coach with team evaluation and ensuring the organization and coaching of the positional group(s) you are responsible for;
-Enforcing a consistent discipline policy and code of conduct for all players on the team;
-Promoting student academic success and serving as a good role model for all student-athletes and students at all times;
-Assisting with film breakdown, scouting, and recruiting duties as assigned;
-Reporting any major issues or disciplinary problems to the head coach/football director;
-Any other duties assigned by the head coach.
Possible dorm supervision duties may be required as part of the position also.

The ideal candidate is one who has played high school and college football, preferably at the NCAA level, consideration will also be given to candidates who played Canadian university football. Former professional football players will be given consideration also. Candidate must have at least 3 years of successful coaching experience. Coaching experience at a high level will be given advanced consideration, but coaching experience can come from several avenues including summer league (OVFL/OPFL, etc.), high school, prep school, provincial teams and cup teams, etc.
